“I want to ensure that future Crockett County graduates have the opportunity to receive an even greater educational foundation.”

Political Announcement
I, John Robert Cole, announce my candidacy for the Crockett County School Board representing voting districts 4 & 6. I have resided in Crockett Mills my entire life and graduated with Honors from Crockett County High School in 2001. I am currently employed as a Systems Engineer for Telephone Electronics Corporation, the parent company of Crockett Telephone Company. Prior to my employment with TEC, I was employed at Crockett Internet based in Alamo from 1997-2001. I have also provided network and computer consulting services for many business and other individuals for over 10 years.

I am an active member of the First Baptist Church of Alamo. I support all educational organizations such as Friendship Elementary PTO and community events and organizations such as Relay for Life and Crockett County Exchange Club. In recent years, I co-organized the Friendship Christmas Parade sponsored by the Friendship Merchants Association. In 2001, I completed the Crockett County Chamber’s Crockett Youth Leadership program and in 2004 graduated from Leadership Crockett County.

For years I have had a desire to be part of the Crockett County School Board. Many people have asked why and my answer is simple. I feel that the education that I received in Crockett County has been a huge asset to my success, and I want to ensure that future Crockett County graduates have the opportunity to receive an even greater educational foundation.

Should you choose my representation for the Crockett County School Board, you will be electing the only candidate who graduated under the current consolidated school system. I will not only represent students and parents from districts 4 & 6, but all students and parents of Crockett County. As a 2001 Crockett County High School graduate, I have recently been a student in the Crockett County School System and can provide new and unique insight on current issues and policies for our school system. Because of my strong technical background, I feel I have the knowledge and understanding to equip faculty and students with the best technology available. If elected, I will strive to attend all School Board meetings. The importance of perfect attendance in school is stressed to the students; therefore, I believe that attendance of School Board meetings is very important as well.

I want to be a positive representative of the Crockett County School Board and our county’s educational system. If elected, I pledge to vote fairly and keep students first when making all decision.

I respectfully ask for your consideration on August 3rd.
